It can be very hard choosing a book for someone who is constantly buying books, especially when you know the only gift that will make them happy revolves around more books. So I have created a list of bookish gift ideas that you can buy for your loved one this Valentine’s Day!
1. Audible book subscription
Audio books are super handy when travelling or when you just don’t have enough time to pick up a book. There’s nothing better than being given the chance to get a new book every month with Amazon Audible. You can even listen to it on your phone! The person you purchase the gift for will get one credit every month.
Cost: £7.99 for one book/credit
2. Bookish candles
There are lots of companies and individuals making luxurious candles that are perfect for book lovers – from the smell of a bookshop to the butterbeer drink from Harry Potter, they have thought of them all.
Cost: £9.50
3. Book subscription boxes
A surprise book through the post every month, what’s not to love about that? Depending on the company you choose you receive many different gifts in the box as well as the book. With Reading In Heels it can range from luxurious chocolate, hot drinks and beauty products. Whereas Books That Matter have been known to give tote bags, bookmarks and enamel pins in their boxes. If you’re looking for a cheaper service which includes just a book, then Blind Date with a Book might be perfect for your loved one. These can sometimes be purchased as one off gifts too.
Cost: £7.99 – £15.99 a month
4. Tickets to the Harry Potter studio
This is something that should not be missed if you are a fan of the Harry Potter books (and the films). Located just outside London in Watford lies the story behind all of the magic. You can drink butterbeer, fly on broomsticks and visit platform 9 and 3/4 to name a few things!
Cost: £43pp
5. High Tea in the Regency Tea Room at the Jane Austen Centre, Bath
High Tea is a great gift idea and also a lovely place to take someone for a romantic meal. The fact that it is located in Jane Austen’s hometown makes it even more special and there’s even a museum in the building, which tells the story of Austen’s life.
Cost (for high tea): £9-12pp
Cost (for the museum per adult): £12

HP studio is definitely a must! It was amazing. I’m tempted to go back.
Yes they are. Various book subscriptions include bookish candles which I think is also really cool.

I do love bookish candles, and I have loved the two book subscription boxes I have tried. I love that you’ve included experiences as well as gifts here too!
