Stay at home book tag

6A404F4D-DC8A-4E8C-8CB9-1B3BC4EB3418

Since most of us are stuck indoors at the moment, this is the perfect tag to take part in. I saw it over on Aoife’s booktube channel and I thought it looked like a lot of fun.

1. Laying in bed – a book you read in one day

I read When All is Said by Anne Griffin in a day. It was a really quick read and engrossing. I couldn’t put it down because I just wanted to know the rest of Maurice’s story. You can read my review here.

2. Snacking – a book that is a “guilty pleasure” read

I don’t really believe in the term “guilty pleasure” because I think you should enjoy whatever you want. But one of my favourite books is Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella. Or just anything by her if I’m being honest.

3. Netflix – a series that you want to start

I really want to read Daughter Of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor as I loved Strange the Dreamer a lot. Also I want to read the Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare.

4. Deep clean – a book that has been on your TBR for ages

If We Were Villains by M. L. Rio is one I have had on my shelf to read for a while. And I need to read it soon because I borrowed it from a friend.

5. Animal Crossing – a book you recently bought because of the hype

I haven’t bought a book because of the hype in ages! I think my last one might have been Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid which was over a year ago! I did love this book as well. Check out my review here. Or another would be Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson which I didn’t click with very much.

6. Productivity – a book you learned from or had an impact on you

Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck because the tragedy really moved me and the relationship between Lennie and George taught me the true meaning of friendship.

7. Facetime – a book you were gifted
One book I was recently gifted is American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins by my family for my birthday.

8. Self-care – what is one thing you have done recently to look after yourself

I’ve been taking my puppy for a walk daily and having video calls with my family. I have been reading too.

BONUS – An upcoming release you are looking forward to

In Case You Missed It! by Lindsey Kelk. I love this author and can’t wait for her next book to come out.

I tag: Estelle and Eleanor to take part next!

  1. Ooo I love the Infernal Devices!!! I’ve also thought about reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone because someone gave me the book back when it first came out and I’ve never read it 🙈. Happy reading! 🙃

  2. This is a great post ♡ I picked up Daisy Jones and The Six at the library once and I just couldn’t get into it. I see so many people are enjoying it though. I might have to give it another go at some point! Also, Of Mice and Men has such a special place in my heart. I made my partner, Simon buy himself a copy when we first started dating because I think everyone should read it at least once!

    1. Lots of people who struggled to get into the book have said the audiobook is great. I think maybe because there’s multiple voices on the track to distinguish the characters because it’s written in an interview format. Let me know what you think if you do give it a retry.

Yes it’s lovely isn’t it. Of Mice and Men is one of my favourite classics. Did Simon enjoy it?
