1. How many books are too many books in a series?

I don’t think there can be too many if there’s enough of a story there to write a lot of books. While I enjoyed the Caraval series by Stephanie Garber, it could probably have fitted into two books instead of three. But there are lots of series I have enjoyed that have quite a few books, including the I heart series by Lindsey Kelk, which has eight.

2. How do you feel about cliffhangers?

I’m not a huge fan of cliffhangers. I’d rather know the ending once I’ve finished the book otherwise I feel like the book hasn’t achieved anything. This was one of the reasons I wasn’t a huge fan of Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson. I think I expect an ending more so if the book is a crime/ thriller otherwise what’s the point?

3. Hardback or Paperback?

100% hardback. I hate that paperbacks crease. I also think hardbacks look nicer on my shelves.

4. Favourite book?

My favourite book of all-time is The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. I’m always finding new favourites but nothing has ever come close to that one for me.

5. Least favourite book?

I can’t think of many that I would class as a least favourite book. I usually either DNF books I don’t like or forget about them quickly after reading them. I didn’t like The Raven Boys but I know so many others who love that series. The main reason I disliked it was because it featured a lot of Welsh history and Welsh words that were anglicised which annoyed me a bit as I am a Welsh speaker myself.

6. Love triangles, yes or no?

I prefer books without love triangles but I don’t hate them either. It’s not something I seek out, so my answer would be no.

7. The most recent book you just couldn’t finish?

I can’t remember!

8. A book you’re currently reading?

At the moment I’m reading The Book Club by C. J. Cooper and I’m over half way through and I’m not in love with it. It’s very confusing but I’m hoping since it is a thriller there will be some twist that’s going to change my perspective.

9. Last book you recommended to someone?

Open Water by Caleb Azumah Nelson. It was a quick read but packed a lot into it. I really enjoyed it.

10. Oldest book you’ve read?

I’m not entirely sure but I’m going to go with Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen which was published in 1813.

11. Newest book you’ve read?

Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas is one of the newer releases from this year that I have read recently.

12. Favourite author?

How can anyone choose just one? I love so many from a variety of different genres. Of course I have to say Oscar Wilde. I also love Jane Austen, all of the Bronte sisters, Toni Morrison, Taylor Jenkins Reid, Sophie Kinsella, Lindsey Kelk, Agatha Christie, Gillian Flynn, Angie Thomas and Bernardine Evaristo. There’s just so many!

13. Buying books or borrowing books?

I prefer buying books only because I love having my own collection.

14. A book you dislike that everyone else seems to love?

Last One at the Party by Bethany Clift is one that I just didn’t get or enjoy. And everyone else who has read it seemed to massively enjoy it. Maybe I missed the point.

15. Bookmarks or dog-ears?

Bookmarks always or anything else I can find to use instead of a bookmark. I would never dog-ear the pages.

16. A book you can always reread?

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

17. Can you read while listening to music?

Yes, I enjoy having background noise, particularly Taylor Swift or something quietly playing on the telly.

18. One POV or multiple POVs?

I prefer one point of view. But there are some books like Beth O’Leary’s that have two point of views that I enjoyed too. I guess it has to be done properly.

19. Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?

If I can read it in one sitting that means I’ve really enjoyed the book. But usually I will read a book over a few days. If it takes me longer, it’s because I’m not enjoying it.
