My reading, blogging and life goals for 2022

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. As it’s the start of 2022 I thought I would set out my goals for the year ahead.

Reading

My reading goal for the year is to read 60 books again. I’ve set my Goodreads challenge to the same amount of books as last year because it isn’t too challenging and I can read without any pressure. In 2021, I did manage to read 68 books and if I go over target again then I’m happy with that but I hate the idea of reading just to reach a target or to beat the previous year’s goal. The whole point of reading for me is to enjoy myself and not to make it feel like a chore.

Blogging

This year I’m trying to be more organised with my blog posts. My aim is to schedule posts in advance so I have at least one post every three weeks. The main reason I’ve decided to do this is because in 2021 I posted almost consistently for the first half of the year and sometimes posted more than once a week on the odd occasion, but didn’t write much by the end of the year. Hopefully by setting out this goal I will be able to plan my posts in advance and not write them and publish them all on the same day.

Ideally I would like to grow my blog audience more this year, however I’m not going to put massive amounts of pressure on myself as it’s not an easy task to do. Hopefully by posting consistently it will help my blog grow more over time.

Life

Outside of blogging I would love to learn a new craft in 2022. I usually learn a couple of crafts every year but this year I would like to learn how to make sterling silver and gold jewellery from scratch. It might take a little longer to learn how to do this particular craft than some of the other ones I’ve learnt before but I’m excited to give it a go.

  1. Great goals. When reading is no longer fun or enjoyable, then I would be done. I do want to finish some series this year that I have started and really want to get back to. My life goal is to continue my journey to healthy living. Moving everyday (walking, swimming, dancing etc.) is my goal for this year. Here’s to a great 2022.
