I really love when Autumn arrives – I can read indoors under a cosy blanket with a nice warm drink.
As someone who loves the countdown to Christmas, I love when Autumn arrives because it means we’re one step closer to all the festivities.
I’ve seen this book tag, created by Jenniely, floating around Twitter recently and thought I would try answering some of the questions.
Hot Chocolate – what is your favourite comfort book?
My favourite comfort book, the one that always cheers me up is Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella.
Pumpkin Carving – what is your favourite creative outlet?
I love writing, reading, drawing and baking.
Falling Leaves – changes that appear bad but you secretly love?
I really enjoy reading thrillers. Particularly psychological thrillers. They always have me hooked and if the characters are unlikeable, such as those in The Secret History by Donna Tartt, then I’m likely to love the story even more.
Pumpkin Spiced Latte – something you love that others tend to judge
People always judge people’s reading tastes, which I find really rude and annoying. But I always find people are judgmental that I enjoy chick-lit and the fact I also enjoy rereading childhood favourites.
Bonfire Night – what makes you explode with joy?
I love being indoors, with my pets and family. Pretty boring answer but I’m a big introvert.
Friday Night – favourite scary book
I loved Bird Box by Josh Malerman. I’m not a big fan of scary things but I picked this one up last year and I was pleasantly surprised. I finished it in one sitting.
Halloween Candy – favourite thing to eat
I’m literally the fussiest eater and don’t have a favourite food, but if I had to pick a chocolate it would be Maltesers.
Scarves – your autumn must have accessory
Definitely a hat. I love being all cosy.
Fire – a book or film that burns your soul
I will have to say My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult. I don’t think I’ve read a book as upsetting as this one.
Toffee Apples – a book that has one thing but really has a different inside
I think Queenie by Candice Carty- Williams seems like its going to be quite a light read like Bridget Jones’ Diary from all the promo and describing in the blurb. But it actually delves into deeper topics, including mental health and racial issues. It’s a great read and has a lot more depth to it than I thought it would.
What’s your favourite season?
I’m also on Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest – @bookwormgirl_24
I absolutely love Autumn so I’m glad that it’s finally here! I agree about My Sister’s Keeper too. I will never be over that book. Great tag post! ♡

Thank you! I think the film ruined it a bit though, changing the ending hahah

Autumn is my favourite season! I love that everything is snuggly and warm and jumpers and fires and all those cute things. This is such a cute tag! I love the one about being judged for reading – I always feel judged for reading books that have 18+ content (if you know what I mean 🙂 ) To me it’s just like a cute chick-lit romance but I know a lot of people don’t see it that way

Yes, and you should read whatever you enjoy. Hate when people say things like “You should be reading the classics”. Reading is a personal enjoyment, not everyone will like the same things. I love a good chick-lit!
